Attention: Indigent Filers

As part of its eFiling mandate, the Superior Court of California, County of Orange requires its Electronic Filing Service Providers to comply with CCP 1010.6(d)(B) which states in part:  “Any fees charged by an electronic filing service provider shall be waived when deemed appropriate by the court, including, but not limited to, for any party who has received a fee waiver.”

Indigent filers who have access to a credit card, an ATM card or a prepayment card can sign up right now.  No fees will be assessed to the card as long as the court approves your Fee Waiver.

An Attorney's Experience with eFiling and eService

"eFiling and eService are both services our firm did not use until this year.  However, one of our cases transferred to the Complex Division of the Santa Ana Superior Court where efiling is required.  As it turned out, we have voluminous documents which must be filed and served on a weekly basis.  We have found that service by email of large documents is very convenient for counsel and can save costs.  The documents do not have to be copied for opposing counsel and can be served directly by email on all counsel.  You obtain confirmation that service is completed and don’t have to worry whether counsel is in or out of the office, whether the messenger is late, etc."
