Legal Profesionals Gather in Downtown Los Angeles
State and court budgets keep trying to put a damper on people's moods, but the San Gabriel Valley Legal Secretaries Association-hosted Legal Professional Mixer on June 27th clearly showed that the people in our field are as vibrant and energetic as ever.
Might I also add that the sun's rays were also vibrant and energetic as Mikhail Globus (Southern Process Serving Document Specialist), Solomon Rodriguez (Assistant Regional Manager), Lili Daniel (Product Training & Research Specialist), and I (Anthony Espinosa) stepped out onto the Westin Bonaventure Hotel Brewery's open air patio. It was pretty hot.
I've been working with One Legal's Southern CA Process Serving branch for a little over five years, as Document Specialist, Contractor Dispatch Supervisor, and Branch Manager, and it's always great to see a bit of how everything in our field works together.
Although hot, the sun's heat did little to the four of us. Actually, the heat seemed more like a reflection of the event's energy. From the usual attorney service and legal staffing company competitiveness, to the showcasing of industry new ideas, the heat was fitting for all the hustle and bustle that went about.
Among those in attendance were Los Angeles Legal Secretaries Association; San Gabriel Valley Legal Secretaries Association; Long Beach Legal Professionals Association; and, Beverly Hills/Century City Legal Secretaries Association. These associations stand for unity in the legal field, further education, and fun! These associations reminded me of the importance of networking in the legal world and they also reminded me about the importance of always learning something new whether it be through their meetings or their events such as this mixer.
Speaking of further education, did you know One Legal does FREE MCLE accredited training?! Click here to learn more.
As always, raffles bring smiles to people's faces. One Legal donated champagne and wine prizes. Congrats to the winners Maria Lopez and Margaret Tovar!
Overall, it was a lively event filled with much learning, fun conversations, and many business card exchanges. It was an event that gave some employees the opportunity to help One Legal remain relevant and connected to our customers. It was a showcase for the people in our field during difficult state and court budget times, and if I may say so, the people in our field remain as hardworking, fun-loving, competitive, and smart as ever.
